What We Do
β¨ NDCCGA's objectives, as a not-for-profit volunteer community group are;
(i) To promote the relationship between all Community Groups based North of the Swan River within North of the Swan River Municipalities;
(ii) To act as a combined advocate for all key Stakeholders North of the Swan River;
(iii) To enhance the good governance of the Councils North of the Swan River in a non-party political manner; and
(iv) All matters incidental to the above.β¨ Our association strongly advocated for a "Multi-Sports Park Concept Proposal", a home and major infrastructure for non-motorised wheeled sports participation, engaging with Peak Bodies, Sporting Groups, and all Governments (Local, State, Federal and Agencies).
Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful achieving this vision beyond numerous "outcomes-less" meetings.
Advocacy examples; the "WALGA North Metropolitan Zone Minutes 01/12/2011", and the "City of Joondalup Ordinary Meeting of Council 20/11/2012", links π below).
β¨ NDCCGA's visionary "Multi-Sports Park Concept Proposal" is a HOME for all non-motorised wheel sports to grow and safely train and participate in events, with a diverse training/events/accreditation Infrastructure catering for,
- 7x Wheel Sports (cycle and skate), and
- Athletics, and
- Club Facilities, and
- All integrated amongst Recreational Parklands/Facilities and protected Bio-diverse Natural Bushlands.
See π below...
β¨ NDCCGA has advocated through Main Roads WA (MRWA), for Cycling safety and improvements to WA's Transport Network.
Calling for grade-separated Veloways (dedicated cycling freeways) and Cycle-lanes, which are urgently needed by non-motorised Cyclists using congested unsafe road networks. These "Infrastructure improvements" are URGENTLY needed to provide traffic congestion mitigation and decent road safety.
NB: Moving forward what is also now urgently needed, are transformational grade-separated e-Veloways and e-Cycle-lanes (for e-Bikes and e-Scooters and non-motorised Cycles) integrated into the transport network.NDCCGA, as members of two separate "The Mitchell Freeway Extension's" community consultation groups, during 2009-2017. We were key to a number of comprehensive submissions detailing safety and improvements to WA's Transport Network.A few examples of NDDCGA submissions for WA's Transport Network improvements and safety π below...β¨ "Submission On Key Issues for Traffic Congestion Mitigation" through membership of the Mitchell Freeway Community Reference Group (CRG), presented to Government and Main Roads WA on 02/12/2014.
β¨ Submission advocating cycling improvements, incl. a Veloway (Cycling Freeway) proposal mitigating/futureproofing Freeway congestion, from "Transport Group Meeting Summary 7.5.14 Extract", tabled 07/05/2014, through the Mitchell Freeway Transport Working Group (TWG) sub-committee.
β¨ "Safer Signage Submission" for Principal Shared Paths (PSPs) & Dual Use Paths, tabled to the CRG and MRWA freeway extension stakeholders in Dec2015.
β¨ NDCCGA has advocated through Westcycle and BWA, to Government, for Cycling safety and improvements to WA's Transport Network.
Particularly busy during the lead-up to the 2017 WA State Government Election, advocating everything cycling, including the example π below;- "NDCCGA Submission to Westcycle and BWA - Transport Plan Forum 13/10/2016", recommending cycling priorities for WA's transport network budget.

β¨ NDCCGA is a volunteer not-for-profit community Association.
We welcome new members, which are vital in building fresh ideas and ethos, working for our community.
Register your interest via the Contact Us section email link π below.β¨ NDCCGA is not an "Incorporated" body.
Suffice to say, NDCCGA was originally established as Incorporated community group in mid-June 2004, and for the period to late-June 2024.
The original NDCCGA Committee has sadly passed.
Honour and respect to all these fine people and their long-standing commitment and tireless voluntary work, over many years! π
Their spirit and generosity lives on in our community.β¨ Maybe a new Incorporated Association, formed under a new name may emerge, given recent positive conversations and feedback from local community groups?
